Songs from Beyond - Deux-Elles

Songs from Beyond is an elegant set of classical guitar arrangements of jazz standards by Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, and others, made by John W. Duarte, a British composer who was closely connected to some of the most famous guitarists of the 20th century in both the jazz and classical worlds. Working closely with Duarte's son, Christopher Duarte, who is engaged in a larger project of cataloguing and publishing his father's work, I made a thoughtful selection of these previously unknown arrangements. In addition to the solo pieces, four tracks feature duos with guitarist Daniela Rossi, whose expressive playing brings a rich, intimate dialogue to the album.

Warmikuna - Ibermúsicas

“Warmikuna” (women in quechua language) is a suite for solo guitar paying homage to 4 influential female figures in the social and cultural life in Ecuador. This Suite uses folk rhythms from the country as well as special open tunings called "Galindo" that are different on each movement. This project was winning of the Ibermúsicas funding award for virtual mobility 2020.
